A company calling itself European Business Number (EBN) is once again targeting a number of businesses in Europe with a scam involving fraudulent contracts.

This is far from the first time that such a scam has appeared. According to Fraud Help Desk, EBN typically sends out a form with some of the details of the recipient already filled in. Next, the recipient is asked to check whether the information is correct, suggesting that the two parties are old business partners.

People who sign and then return the form will be signing up for a contract they never wanted, forcing them to pay €677 per year for a service they don’t need.

If you’re not sure about an invoice, always read the fine print – it’s the scammers’ greatest tool for defrauding unsuspecting businesses and individuals.
