MIA Expecting 140,000 Travellers Over Easter

Malta International Airport is expecting around 140,000 passenger movements in Malta during Easter week.

Due to the Easter rush, combined with the start of the Cruise and Fly programme and the recent launch of the airport’s summer schedule, Thursday 13th April is expected to be the busiest day over the coming week, with MIA forecasting around 21,500 passenger movements.

The airport has advised passengers to check in early between 7.15am and 1pm while the Cruise and Fly programme is in operation.

The airport’s meteorological office has predicted a sunny Easter weekend, with temperatures reaching 22°C.

According to MIA, the Easter rush coincides with works on the €12 million reconfiguration project being carried out in the terminal. The airport’s core facilities are being upgraded cater for an increase in capacity over the course of the year.
