Air Malta said it will operate repatriation flights to bring home Maltese nationals and residents affected by the travel ban on Italy, Switzerland, Germany, France and Spain.
The ban was imposed in a bid to contain the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. Flights to the five countries have been suspended until further notice.
Maltese nationals and residents affected by the travel ban should call on +356 2204 2200 or send an email to sitcen.mfea@gov.mt. If so directed, they would need to contact Air Malta on +356 2169 1909 to confirm their travel arrangements.
Air Malta pointed out in a statement it will not be in a position to confirm and process any travel arrangements unless directed by the Government.
“It is at times like these that one appreciates the importance of having a national airline,” the Minister for Economy, Investment and Small Businesses, Silvio Schembri, said when thanking Air Malta for its collaboration.
