ASOS Billionaire Loses Three Of His Children In Sri Lanka Attacks

The Povlsen family was on holiday in Sri Lanka when tragedy struck. 

Anders Holch Povlsen, the Danish billionaire who is a majority shareholder in online clothes retailer ASOS, lost three of his four children in the terrorist attacks which took place on Sunday in Sri Lanka.

Mr Holch Povlse, whose net worth was estimated to be €7.1 billion, confirmed that three of his children had been killed, and asked for the family’s privacy to be respected during this very difficult time.

The Povlsen family was on holiday in Sri Lanka when tragedy struck. The names of the siblings who were killed have not yet been published.

Mr Povlsen is the second-largest individual private landowner in the UK and Scotland’s largest private landowner. In 2018, Forbes listed him as the richest Danish person in the world.

On Easter Sunday, three Sri Lankan cities woke up to at least nine bombs tearing through various churches and hotels. The death toll had risen to at least 290, with more than 500 others wounded, by Monday morning.

Defense Minister Ruwan Wijewardene described the coordinated blasts as a terrorist attack by religious extremists.
