Bids for €150m stock issue total €526m

Treasury accepts to exercise the over-allotment option

The Treasury received 105 bids with a nominal value of €526.3 million for the July 2020 Malta Government Stock Issue that had an authorised sum of €150 million, subject to an over-allotment option for an additional €100 million.

It decided to allocate the total accepted amount of €250 million as follows: €130.7 million for the 0.50 per cent Malta Government Stock 2023 (IV), for which the bids received had a nominal value of €271.8 million; €78.8 million for the 0.80 per cent Malta Government Stock 2027 (III), where the bids had a nominal value of €209 million; and €40.5 million for the 1.00 per cent Malta Government Stock 2031 (II) FI, where the bids received had a nominal value of €45.5 million.
