Celia Falzon appointed Mater Dei CEO

She will be leaving her job as Pharmacy Of Your Choice CEO to take on the new role in February

Celia Falzon has been appointed CEO of Mater Dei Hospital, according to a Government press release issued last Friday. She will replace outgoing CEO Ivan Falzon.

Ms Falzon is currently CEO for the Pharmacy Of Your Choice. She has a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, specialising in strategic planning.

She has been involved in large projects within the public healthcare sector since 2014, such as the expansion of the emergency department and initiatives tackling appointment waiting lists.

The outgoing CEO leaves his position after six years occupying the role. He was instrumental in numerous projects such as the opening of new wards, major investments for new equipment such as MRI machines and CT scans, as well as the opening of the Sir Anthony Mamo Oncology Centre.

Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Chris Fearne thanked Mr Falzon for his leadership of the state hospital, while wishing Ms Celia Falzon the best of luck in her new role.
