Chamber prepares to elect Council for 2017-19

Elections for Council members that will serve on council for the period between 2017 and 2019 will be held on the 27, 28 and 29 March following the Chamber’s Annual General Meeting.

The Malta Chamber is currently gearing up for its bi-annual process of regeneration as it will be electing a new Council and President following the Annual General Meeting of 27th March.

The Council of the Malta Chamber is elected from a list of nominated members who come from the three Economic Groups represented within the Chamber, namely Importers and Distributors, the Services Industry and Manufacturing. The elected officials of the executive boards of the three Economic Groups, will form the Council of the Chamber. The voting shall take place on the 27, 28 and 29 March. The Council will then elect the Chamber’s 51st President in its first meeting after election in early April.

All paid up members of the Malta Chamber (till 31st December) have the right to vote in their preferred candidates to sit on Council. The following is the list of Candidates for election to Council.

Voting will take place at The Exchange Buildings on 27th March, immediately following the Annual General Meeting up to 7.30 p.m. (or as directed by the Electoral Commission), 28th March between 10.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. and 3.00 p.m. and 5.00 p.m, and 29th March between 9.00 am and 3.00 p.m. only.

Members are reminded that in order to vote they are required to present their Voting Certificate and a document of identification.
