There were 8,995 individuals officially looking for work last January.

The National Statistics Office said the unemployment rate in January stood at 3.4 per cent, down 0.2 percentage points over the same month in 2019 and up 0.1 per cent compared with December.

There were 8,995 individuals officially looking for work last January.

In the case of females, the rate of unemployment was 3.6 per cent in the period under review (3,976), down 0.1 per cent over the previous month.

The unemployment rate among males was 3.2 per cent (5,019), up 0.1 per cent.
