From Waste to Value: The Transition to a Circular Economy

On 22nd May, MEP Miriam Dalli is organising a conference titled ‘From Waste to Value: The Transition to a Circular Economy’. This will be held at the European Parliament Office, Europe House, Valletta.

The event aims to have a dynamic exchange of views between policy-makers, high-level experts from Malta and Brussels, and the Maltese audience on issues related to the Circular Economy. These include sustainable development, innovation, water, waste management and the challenge of food waste. The conference will also be outlining potential economic measures, incentives at regional or Member State level, and the role of education in changing consumer behavior.

The discussion will include the participation of European Commissioner on Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Karmenu Vella; Minister for Sustainable Development, the Environment and Climate Change Jose’ Herrera; Simona Bonafé, Member of the European Parliament, chief negotiator and rapporteur of the Circular Economy Package in the European Parliament; and other prominent speakers from businesses, sectorial associations and the public sector.
