International speakers to headline Business Leaders Malta conference

4th June 2019

10th edition of the annual conference to be held at the iconic Teatru Manoel

Four outstanding international speakers will tread the boards of the Teatru Manoel on 14th June, to share their real-life stories as part of Business Leaders’ annual conference which this year is titled ‘Breakthrough, From Good to Great’.

Business Leaders is keeping its annual appointment, celebrating the 10th edition of its conference which it will be staging in grand style at the Manoel Theatre in Valletta.

The speakers are bestselling author, entrepreneur and advisor Rasmus Ankersen, Fraser Doherty, MBE, Israeli conductor and motivational speaker Itay Talgam, and psychological coach and corporate trainer Jen Martin.

The BLM Annual Conference has focused on diverse themes since the first edition in 2010, ranging from recruitment, growth, and strategy to resilience, knowledge and speed to market, attracting increasing numbers of attendees year on year.

This year, the conference will turn its attention to that pivotal event – the breakthrough – that allows organisations to take a giant leap forward, raise their game and stand above the rest.

Advisor to businesses and athletes, Danish writer Rasmus Ankersen is chairman of his childhood club FC Midtjylland and a director of England’s Brentford FC. In 2016 Rasmus published Hunger in Paradise, exploring how organisations can remain successful by eliminating complacency. He has shared his extensive research with global brands such as LEGO, Google, IKEA, and Facebook.

After making jam with his grandmother in Scotland, Fraser Doherty became the youngest ever supplier to a major supermarket when Waitrose agreed to stock his SuperJam brand. He was just 16. SuperJam now supplies supermarkets around the world. Doherty, who has been commended by Britain’s Prime Minister and the Prince of Wales, is also the co-founder of Beer52, the world’s largest craft beer club and one of Scotland’s fastest growing start-ups.

Itay Talgam is an orchestral conductor turned “conductor of people” who finds metaphors for organisational behaviour within the symphony orchestra, helping people create a sense of collaboration and leadership. He made his international conducting debut in 1987, when he was chosen by Maestro Bernstein, conducting the Orchestre de Paris. He is world famous for his TED talk “Lead like the greatest conductors”.

Jen Martin has spent the last 10 years working with C-suite executives, government officials, diplomats, and actors. Transitioning from law, her training optimises business and management communication, elevates mindset and decision-making, and cultivates innovation and problem solving. Martin’s coaching centres on the psychology of managing growth and change, harnessing positive change for people, teams and organisations.

The presentation of the BLM Employee’s Voice Awards will follow the speakers, after which there will be a fun activity for everyone in the audience.

A networking lunch will take place afterwards. For enquiries and more information about ‘Breakthrough. From Good to Great’, visit www.businessleadersmalta.com/conference2019 or call 2247 0728
