The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry congratulated Mr William Wait on his appointment as non-Executive Chairman of Malta Enterprise.
Mr Wait comes with a long and prestigious career in business and industry and has for many years participated actively in the Chamber’s own Board of Management, Council, Manufacturing Economic Group and other committees.
The Malta Chamber said it was satisfied that yet another entrepreneur, with an active past within it, is being entrusted with the helm of one of the country’s most important organisations in the fostering and generation of business in Malta.
Whilst thanking the outgoing Executive Chairman for his valued contribution, the Chamber looks forward to the further strengthening of this already excellent relationship with Malta Enterprise.
Mr Wait served as a director and deputy CEO of Toly Group, an international cosmetics manufacturing group.
He was elected to the council of the Federation of Industry and subsequently to the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry in 2008.
He was also a member of the Malta Council for Economic and Social Development.
He is currently executive chairman of Projects Malta Limited and chairman of the Water Services Corporation (WSC).
Mr Wait succeeds Mario Vella, who is to become governor of the Central Bank.
His WSC post will be relinquished and Mario Zammit, who is currently managing director of Uniplast Limited, will take his place.
