The Embassy of Malta in Japan is presided by Ambassador Andre Spiteri

The Ministry for Foreign and European Affairs has announced the Embassy of Malta in Japan officially opened its doors on 28th September 2020.

Malta and Japan have enjoyed excellent bilateral ties ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 15th July 1965, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said in a statement.

Having witnessed an intensification in our bilateral contact over the past few years, a decision to open permanent representation in Tokyo was first announced in November 2018.

“It is auspicious that the opening of this embassy falls on the 55th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations, and a clear indication of Malta’s view that Japan is an important partner and leader in world affairs.”
