Malta will be hosting the CAPA World Aviation Outlook Summit in December 2019, held in conjunction with the CAPA Global Aviation Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner. The summit will welcome a diverse array of airline leaders looking forward to the following year.

Established in 1990, Sydney-based CAPA - Centre for Aviation is the leading provider of independent aviation market intelligence, analysis and data services, covering worldwide developments. CAPA is renowned to be a highly influential aviation group, assisting major stakeholders in the aviation sector and leading supplier businesses to stay informed and remain closely connected to industry leaders, driving change, and supporting industry evolution.

This summit will continue to establish the aviation sector in Malta given that CAPA attracts the world's leading airline and industry executive level speakers and attendees at each of its global events held in key aviation markets around the world. The CAPA World Aviation Summit & Aviation Awards for Excellence is a premiere event in the annual aviation calendar. The summit provides an in-depth aviation market outlook for the Europe, Asia, Middle East, and Americas regions and reviews developments effecting the sector and the commercial and operational pillars that will drive airline strategic decision-making in the years to come. The CAPA Aviation Awards for Excellence are part of the summit and these awards have recognised strategic leadership in the global aviation industry since 2002.

This year, Air Malta won the CAPA Turnaround Airline of the Year Award at the Aviation Outlook Summit, which was held in Berlin. Air Malta was selected for its successful transformation, going from making heavy losses to a break-even result for the fiscal year ending March 2018.
