Persons registering for work dropped to 1,616, a decrease of 9.1 per cent when comparing June 2019 with June 2018, according to statistics released by the National Statistics Office (NSO)
Data was provided by Jobsplus show registered unemployment dropped among all age groups except for those aged less than 20 and those aged between 25 and 29.
Registrants for work decreased when compared to June 2018, irrespective of how long they had been registering for work. The largest decrease was recorded among persons who had been registering for more than one year.
The number of persons with a disability who were registering for work decreased by 68 when compared to the previous year, reaching 214. Men accounted for 68.7 per cent of total registrants with a disability.
The largest share of men and women on the unemployment register sought occupations as clerical support workers with 18.8 per cent and 39.3 per cent respectively.
