During a consultation meeting open to members of the Malta Chamber to discuss the ‘Renting as a Housing Alternative’ White Paper with the Hon Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes and his technical team, Deputy President David Xuereb highlighted that the feedback being prepared by the Malta Chamber aims to strike a delicate balance between the interests of the landlords and tenants.
Perit Xuereb noted that the Chamber’s vast interests and representation will ensure that such a balanced approach is indeed reflected in its proposals.
Members present gained insight into government’s vision for the sector through a presentation delivered by Dr Kurt Xerri, Legal Advisor on the White Paper, and also had the opportunity to provide feedback directly to the policy makers. The meeting was notably productive as a number of innovative ideas were well-received by Hon. Galdes and his team.
In the coming days, the Malta Chamber will be drafting its formal feedback document for submission to the concerned authorities. Members are encouraged to contribute any further proposals by contacting email@example.com by no later than Friday 7th December 2018.
