Alan is an accountant by profession, previously practising with a Big 4 firm in Malta, Italy and Luxembourg.
Alan joined the family business, Robert Arrigo & Sons, a destination management company and incoming travel & tourism agent in 2009, taking care of its core business of supporting foreign travel agents and tour operators by offering a complete range of services such as hotel accommodation, bus and shuttle transfers, rental cars, excursions and tour guide services.
Alan has been involved within the Malta Chamber’s structures since 2015 as Deputy Chairperson of the Tourism Business Section and chaired the Tourism round table for Chamber’s Think Tank.
Liz Barbaro Sant earned a B.A. (Hons) degree in Business Management. She is the joint CEO of Alberta Group - Alberta, ISTC International Safety Training College and PT Matic Environmental Services - and a member of the Groups’ board of directors.
Over the course of her 32-year career, Liz has held various positions within the group and gained substantial insight to the different facets of the organisation since she joined the family business at the age of 18.
She was a member for the Board of Empower and is a member of the Libyan Maltese Chamber of Commerce. Liz is also a Director & board member of TradeMalta.
Liz became a council member of the Malta Chamber in 2015 and has served on the Services Economic Group. In 2019 Liz formed part of the Board of Management and currently holds the position of Vice-President.
Natalie Briffa Farrugia is CEO of the CareMalta Group, the largest operator of long-term care services for older persons in Malta.
Since she joined the group in 2008, she has dedicated all her experience in end-of-life care in missionary work, and her academic background in Gerontology and Geriatrics to develop a quality of life to both the companies’ clients and employees.
The CareMalta Group has grown considerably under her helm, overseeing more than 1,600 elderly people in the nine homes it operates, and offering respite services to children and older adults with disabilities through HILA.
Through HILA, CareMalta believes that it is in a unique position to offer respite services and also operate and manage residential facilities for persons with disabilities. Embarking in this new sector, serving persons with disabilities, is a natural extension of the capabilities and range of services offered by CareMalta Group.
Catherine Calleja is Director and Company Secretary of Atlas Insurance and a Director on several group boards.
Managing Director of Altas Healthcare Insurance Agency since 2004, she has worked in the insurance industry since 1988. She currently chairs the Malta Chamber Health and Wellness Committee and previously chaired the Human Resources Committee.
She is a Past President and council member of the Malta Insurance Association and chairs the MIA health sector.
She is a visiting lecturer within the Faculty of Economics, management and Accountancy at the University of Malta, her alma mater, and is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and a Chartered Insurer.
Ian Casolani was born in 1974 and graduated from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (UK) in 1998.
He is the Managing Director of Belair Property, a company he has been instrumental in developing and growing over the past 28 years and which is now recognized as one of the leading players in the real estate industry.
He has served two terms as Chairman of the Real Estate Business Section at the Malta Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as President of the Federation of Estate Agents (FEA), which he has also been involved in since its inception.
Through this, he has been regularly active in discussions with government on schemes and policies related to the property sector. Ian is currently a member of the Chamber’s Board of Management and Council.
Ian is married with two children and is passionate about sailing, which he does his best to enjoy in his free time.
Mary is an entrepreneur, the Chairperson and a Joint Managing Director of Green Skip Services Ltd, a company she co-founded in 1992. Pioneering Waste management in Malta , she has worked incessantly in all business sectors offering disposal for all waste types and hazardous and special wastes .
Mary has been accepted as a full member of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Wastes Management of the UK since several years .
She has served as a Chairperson of the Industrial Tribunal and is also the Vice-Chair of the Civil Society Committee within the MCESD.
She is also the President of the National Council of Women.
Deborah has over twenty years’ experience holding C-Level and Board members roles in various industries. She formulated new strategic directions and implemented the necessary changes, covering both local and international companies. Over the past seven years as the CEO & Managing Director of STM Malta Pension Services Limited, she has been instrumental in setting up and not only growing the Company, but also placing the firm as the major pensions provider.
Deborah is the Chairperson of the Malta Association of Retirement Scheme Administrators. She sits on committees within the Malta Chamber of Commerce and the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners. Over her career Deborah has won a number of prestigious awards including finalist of the Commonwealth Women Entrepreneur of the Year 2015, the most recent award won being the Malta Businesswoman of the Year Awards 2020.
She is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Masters in Business Administration from Henley
Management College (UK). She is a member of numerous professional institutions both locally and abroad.
William Spiteri Bailey, a Certified Public Accountant and a registered auditor, is a partner within RSM Malta, responsible for risk management services.
William has extensive experience in servicing and advising clients across a wide range of industry sectors.
William is an ex-President of the Malta Institute of Accountants and currently a Council Member. He is also the current Chair of the Financial Services Sector Committee of The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry.
William is one of the current two practicing advisors to the Accountancy Board. He is also currently a member of the IFAC (International Federation of Accountants – New York) Small and Medium Practices (SMP) Committee.
Matthew comes from a finance background having spent 15 years in PwC, seven of which in the Italian Office in Milan.
Today Matthew heads the corporate and finance division of Sullivan Shipping Agencies Ltd and is actively involved in the strategic planning and business development of the company. Matthew is also Deputy Chairman of J.B. Sorotto Limited, an associated group company involved in ship registration and related corporate services.
Matthew has been a council member of the Chamber for the last six years and in the last four he served as Chairman of the Services Providers Economic Group.
He also sits on the Executive Committee of the Shipping and Bunkering Section and on the Council of the Malta Employers Association and in February 2013 was appointed Honorary Consul of the Republic of Korea.
Alison Vassallo heads the Yachting Department and is a Partner within the Marine Litigation Department at Fenech and Fenech Advocates.
She holds a Doctorate of Laws and a Masters Degree in International Maritime Law.
She has over the past 14 years advised owners and financiers on the acquisition and sale of private and commercial yachts, structuring, registration, financing, chartering, crewing and fiscal requirements while speaking and publishing regularly on the subject.
Furthermore, her areas of practice embrace all aspects of maritime law. Alison chairs the Executive Committee of the Yachting Trade Section (Chamber of Commerce) and is an Executive Committee Member of the Malta Maritime Law Association.
Andrew Xuereb was born in Malta. After graduating from the University of Malta in 2002, Andrew was employed at Blevins Franks International first as finance officer and then as Trust manager.
In 2005, having gained experience in asset management and also in property development, Andrew founded and developed Realhouse Management Ltd that was incorporated as a specialised property and estate management firm. Realhouse is currently the Estate Manager of various large high end developments including ones in special designated areas. Andrew has since been involved in the development of various in-house management and control processes including also all the financial planning for the developments including also various public parts in collaboration with a number of building developers.
