In response to questions made to the Superintendence for Public Health, Prof Charmaine Gauci, during a press conference on Thursday, Sullivan Maritime Ltd, agents in Malta for Grimaldi Group, have clarified that:
“As from 16th March 2020, in advance of Government directives, the Line suspended the carrying of passengers and accompanied drivers on all the vessels calling from and to Malta.
“We would also like to clarify further that since this date, the Line has had to ferry a maximum of two drivers into Malta and these as requested and in close cooperation with the authorities having been special cases such as for repatriation and the transportation of vital pharmaceuticals.
“The agency remains at the disposal of the authorities to consider only specific cases as particularly requested and in support of the vital supply link for Malta with the European main land.”
