The Centre is the latest phase at the Tigné Point development to be completed. Owned by Mid Knight Holdings Limited, a company jointly owned by MIDI plc and Mark Weingard, The Centre provides 15,000 sqm of office space over nine floors.
Developed at a cost of €28 million over a period of two and a half years, it consists of two blocks connected via an atrium bridge overlooking the historic Garden Battery which is currently undergoing restoration. With a prime and central location, this iconic new building offers extensive views, both of the seafront and the piazza, and will house over 1,000 occupants once full.
The building is fully tenanted and The Centre is set to house Med Bank and a number of leading gaming companies which are expanding their activities locally. The Centre will also be the first in Malta to achieve LEED Gold certification, thus ensuring that its impact on the environment is minimised.
“With this investment we were determined to address the real, current and anticipated future needs of tenants,” said Mid Knight Holdings chairman Joe Gasan. “We are confident that we have done just that here at The Centre.”
Among the many unique key qualities, The Centre stands out also in large part due to Iniala 5, the art gallery found on the ground floor. The brainchild of Mr Weingard, and Maria Galea, the gallery is filled with natural light and will house pieces by several local and international artists.
“With this gallery we hope to offer a new platform for the incredible talent found in Malta and a creative space which will unleash more innovative ideas and opportunities for all to enjoy,” said Mr Weingard, who bought BOV’s MIDI shareholding in March of this year.
