The Single Market Forum 2016/2017 Closing Conference
On 19th June, the 2017 Maltese Presidency of Council of the European Union together with the European Commission will be organising the Single Market Forum 2016/2017 Closing Conference. This will be held at the Westin Dragonara, St Julians. This Forum gathers market participants such as businesses, social partners, non-governmental organisations, citizens’ organisations and public authorities across different governmental levels. It examines the state of the Single Market, the transposition and application of Directives and exchanges best practice. The Forum contributes to policy evaluations and plays a part in monitoring the implementation of the Single Market Act and its impact at grassroots level.
The aim of this high-level stakeholder conference is to provide an opportunity to note priorities for action on the Single Market especially for SMEs, start-ups and scale-ups. Participants are invited to share their views and experiences through several workshops to be hosted in this regard.
The Conference will feature two sets of four parallel workshops in which public procurement, the collaborative economy and services, amongst others will be discussed. Workshop findings will then be presented in plenary.
During the Single Market Forum Closing Conference, the Ministry of Economy is looking for two local entrepreneurs that are willing to share their experience of the Single Market with the participants. They can share their best practice or else the barriers that they still encounter in the Single Market. These entrepreneurs will also be invited to share their experience during plenary.
