The Prime Minister noted the supportive collaboration of The Malta Chamber in the interests of its members, the business community and the country

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry met with Prime Minister Robert Abela at the Auberge de Castille yesterday, as part of a consultation process for the 2021 Budget.

Addressing the Prime Minister, The Malta Chamber President Perit David Xuereb said that the Budget for 2021 needed to be a formative budget much more than any other budget of recent history.

“While addressing the short-term challenges brought about by the pandemic, this time presents a unique opportunity to be brave and put in place the necessary elements that will pave the way for us to reach the strategic objectives of the next decade, for the benefit of the country’s economy and also everyone’s quality of life” Perit Xuereb said.

The Prime Minister noted his Government’s appreciation of the realistic and supportive collaboration of The Malta Chamber of Commerce in the interests of its members, the business community and the true wider interests of the country at large.

Both parties agreed that discipline was crucial in all aspects of life, to ascertain stability at this time, as issues of public health go hand in hand with a favourable economic restoration and recovery.
