The American University of Malta’s (AUM) first day of school saw it welcoming students from around the world—including Malta—as they began their tertiary education at the ‘American-style’ University in Bormla.
The first phase of AUM campus opened in select parts of the Dock 1 building in Bormla, where students will be pursuing Master’s degrees in Business Administration (MBA), and Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, and Game Development.
The University received accreditation from the National Commission for Further and Higher Education in 2016 and recently welcomed 14 faculty members from around the world, most of whom hail from the US, UK, and Malta.
“The faculty and staff at AUM are thrilled to bring American-style higher education to Malta and to contribute to the already strong educational profile of the country,” said AUM’s Provost and Acting President, Dr John Ryder.
AUM stated that it was proud to offer an engaging, globally-focused business program, and will add additional degree programs each year. “The business degrees prepare students to understand complex, timely, and global business issues. AUM students will participate in extensive student development programs to shape them into interculturally competent leaders with strong critical thinking skills. The first class of students demonstrates strong academic, civic, and career accomplishments, which was key for AUM to establish a high-quality institution,” the school said in its welcome statement.
AUM is currently accepting applications for enrollment for the January 2018 and Fall 2018 semesters. For AUM news updates, visit www.aum.edu.mt
