CONTENT & EVENTS EXECUTIVE (OPEN)

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry is looking for a creative  and organised individual as Content and Events Executive on a full-time / part-time,  basis (i) to support The Malta Chamber’s PR and Communications Department  and (ii) to push The Malta Chamber’s efforts, activities and agenda in the public domain.

Job Description – The main duties include:

  • Assisting the Head of Department in the drafting of press releases, articles for publications, speeches and speaking notes.
  • Coordinating with the Policy Department to obtain policy position, information and data for content creation.
  • Assisting in the organisation, content preparation and visuals of all events, information sessions, round table discussions, networking events and all other initiatives taken by the PR and Communications Department.
  • Assisting in creating content, artwork and video material for web, blog, podcast and social media.
  • Working with other colleagues across the organisation as necessary.

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Communications, Marketing or related subjects
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Maltese and English
  • Good communication and writing skills
  • Video and Photo editing skills will be considered as an asset
  • A good understanding of and interest in national, European and international affairs which have a bearing on The Malta Chamber’s policy direction, particularly business growth and competitiveness, and willingness to develop deep knowledge of policy matters
  • Able to identify and prioritise tasks as well as take ownership, responsibility and work with a team
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

JUNIOR LAWYER (CLOSED)

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry is looking for a dynamic individual for the role of ‘JUNIOR LAWYER’ on a full-time basis (i) to assist in the drafting and keeping tabs on support, guide and lead The Malta Chamber’s Economic Groups, Business Sections and Thematic Committees, and (ii) to support the push effectively for the take up of The Malta Chamber’s recommendations and policy documents.

Job Description – The main duties include:

  • Vetting of agreements and proposing amendments as may be required
  • Drafting of agreements followed by their negotiation and closure
  • Managing agreement renewal and keeping track of the respective obligations
  • Supporting the Policy Team in the interpretation of laws and regulations on subject matters that are of interest to The Malta Chamber members
  • Researching the legal ramifications of subject matters which are of relevance to The Malta Chamber’s Economic Groups, Business Sections and Thematic Committees
  • Keeping up-to-date with current local, European and international developments with respect to legal affairs
  • Assisting the Policy Team in responding to public consultation calls
  • Developing strong working relationships with relevant peer organisations and stakeholders
  • Representing The Malta Chamber as may be directed by Management
  • Working with other colleagues across the organisation as necessary

Qualifications and experience required:

  • A Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree
  • Good communication, public speaking, presentation and writing skills
  • A good understanding of and interest in national, European and international laws which are of relevance to The Malta Chamber
  • Self-starting and able to identify and prioritise tasks as well as take ownership, responsibility and work with a team
  • Able to network and develop relationships
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while producing high-quality work

POLICY EXECUTIVES – SUSTAINABILITY & ECONOMIC & REGULATORY AFFAIRS (CLOSED)

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry is looking for dynamic individuals for the roles of ‘POLICY EXECUTIVE – SUSTAINABILITY’ and ‘POLICY EXECUTIVE – ECONOMIC & REGULATORY AFFAIRS’ on a full-time basis (i) to support, guide and lead The Malta Chamber’s Economic Groups, Business Sections and Thematic Committees, and (ii) to push effectively for the take up of The Malta Chamber’s recommendations and policy documents.

Job Description – The main duties include:

  • Supporting Economic Groups, Business Sections, and Thematic Committees as assigned in terms of research, action and follow-ups on policy development and stakeholder outreach
  • Keeping up-to-date with current local, European and international developments as well as horizon scanning and planning for future developments in the policy field
  • Responding to public consultation calls
  • Preparing well-researched and well-articulated policy briefings, papers, reports and positions
  • Preparing policy content for various audiences including speaking notes, press releases, articles for newspapers and The Malta Chamber’s publications
  • Assisting the PR & Communications team on policy content for policy seminars, information sessions, roundtable discussions, conferences and other stakeholder events as required to maintain and grow The Malta Chamber’s profile and increase visibility across all media particularly in message honing
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with policy makers
  • Developing strong working relationships with relevant peer organisations and stakeholders
  • Representation of The Malta Chamber at local and European fora as directed by Management
  • Working with other colleagues across the organisation as necessary

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Post graduate degrees preferably in policy, environmental sustainability, economy, regulatory affairs,  or legal affairs
  • A mix of public and private sector experience
  • Good communication, public speaking, presentation and writing skills
  • A good understanding of and interest in national, European and international affairs which have a bearing on The Malta Chamber’s policy direction, particularly business growth and competitiveness, and willingness to develop deep knowledge of policy matters

HEAD – EU AFFAIRS & INTERNATIONALISATION (CLOSED)

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry is looking for a dynamic individual as HEAD – EU AFFAIRS & INTERNATIONALISATION on a full-time basis.  The selected candidate will be responsible for the management of a broad range of support services that cater for members’ needs to:

  • keep abreast of EU developments and how business can benefit
  • retain competitive international supply chains
  • expand global footprint beyond the domestic market
  • maintain excellent relations through commercial diplomacy and engagement with other Chambers and institutions.

Job Description – The main duties include:

  • Representing The Malta Chamber in various fora related to EU matters
  • Researching, evaluating, collating and maintaining information and data that is pertinent to the local business in terms of ensuring competitiveness within the EU and globally, and sharing it with the policy team
  • Overseeing the implementation of all projects funded through EU funds (whether through direct or indirect funds) in which The Malta Chamber is a participant
  • Monitoring funding schemes/calls/applications and identifying those which are of relevance to policy and those which could support the operations and investments of The Malta Chamber’s members and business at large
  • Monitoring markets that are of interest to members and overseeing the end-to-end process of identifying interested companies and stakeholders management (including foreign governments and trade offices)
  • Keeping up-to-date with national, European and international developments as well as horizon scanning and planning for future developments
  • Producing plan for internationalisation activities
  • Engaging with members to develop deep understanding of their needs and operations for internationalisation projects, with the objective of helping the company to secure overseas sales and/or investments
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with EU and international embassies, governments and other relevant entities
  • Developing strong working relationships with The Malta Chamber’s private public partnerships, relevant peer organisations and stakeholders
  • Working with other colleagues across the organisation as necessary, with a particular focus on stakeholder engagement and strategic issues to ensure alignment and horizontal coordination

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Post graduate degree in business management, commerce, international relations, EU affairs, legal affairs or a related field
  • A mix of public and private sector experience
  • A minimum of 3 years management experience
  • Good communication, public speaking, presentation and writing skills
  • A good understanding of and interest in national, European and international affairs which have a bearing on The Malta Chamber’s policy direction, particularly business growth, competitiveness and internationalisation
  • Self-starting and able to identify and prioritise tasks as well as take ownership, assume responsibility and work with a team
  • Able to network and develop relationships
  • Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while producing high-quality work
  • Excellent command of written and spoken Maltese and English (proficiency in any of the following 3 languages – Italian, French, Spanish or Arabic – will be considered an asset).

The Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry is looking for a dynamic individual as PROJECTS CO-ORDINATOR on a full-time basis (i) to support, guide and lead The Malta Chamber’s Members on funding opportunities, and (ii) to co-ordinate, manage and implement EU project in which The Malta Chamber is a participant.

Job Description – The main duties include:

  • Implementing projects funded through EU funds (whether through direct or indirect funds) in which The Malta Chamber is a participant
  • Co-ordinating between project stakeholders as required
  • Ensuring proper project reporting, including milestone reports and respective timesheets
  • Liaising with the accounts team to ensure timely project invoicing and payment collection
  • Assisting the PR & Communications Team in the organisation of events which are project related

Qualifications and experience required:

  • Post graduate degree in policy, communications, project management or related area
  • A minimum of 3 years previous experience on funding
  • A mix of public and private sector experience
  • Good communication, public speaking, presentation and writing skills
  • Self-starting and able to identify and prioritise tasks as well as take ownership, responsibility and work with a team
  • Able to network and develop relationships
